My boyfriend, Reilly, and I tried Café Réveille mostly because it was a five-minute walk from our Airbnb when we went to San Francisco. Luckily for us, it was a fun shop with delicious food and lots of food options. We both ordered plain hot lattes, and I tried their avocado toast. The coffee was delicious – they did a really good job of making their latte foamy and creamy without the feel of a cappuccino. (One thing I can’t stand is a latte with too much frothy foam – if I wanted a cappuccino, I’d order one, ya know?) The avocado toast was over-priced in my opinion – it was just sliced avocado on toast with olive oil and salt and pepper. I don’t mind paying a pretty penny for avo toast that has feta cheese, sliced tomatoes, unique seasoning, etc. But if I can make it at home in three seconds, I’d rather just do that.
Besides that, the shop was a popular spot. There was a communal buzz to it that I loved. Though busy shops can be overwhelming, Café Réveille had plenty of seating within their small shop without being too crowded. They also had a cute little patio with tables as well. The décor was trendy and semi-minimalistic – perfect for photos. Overall, I loved it!
Pros: Communal, good coffee, lots of seating
Cons: Over-priced food, a little loud, only one bathroom
